On Wednesday 27th September Year 10 BTEC Hospitality and Tourism students went to visit the Bluebell Railway in East Grinstead.  Students are focusing on tourist destinations and the services provided to customers.  Students experienced a 22 mile round trip on board an original steam train, setting off from East Grinstead to Sheffield Park one one of the first preserved heritage lines in the country.  This train service began in the 1880s and is also popular with film and television companies.

Students had a great day and were able to make observations about how customers were treated from first point of contact and then during their journey.  The company had created an authentic heritage experience which included staff dressed in replica clothing from the 1800s.
