Years 10 and 11 have recently started their courses at Building Lives and New Start. The courses run throughout the year and lead to vocational qualifications.
Building Lives
The Building Lives Project (Year 11 students) is a Multi-Skills Construction accredited course with City & Guilds Level 1 Qualification. Each week the students will be taking on and completing different tasks within the building industry. This week they did Electrical work where there wired up a plug and a light fitting. They will also be doing Plumbing, Wall & Floor Tiling, Plastering, Painting & Decorating Carpentry & Joinery, Bricklaying and Constructional Operations.
Newstart
Each week Year 10/11 students work on a carpentry project. They are in the middle of making Dolls Houses, Tables, Chairs & Birds Houses. They are working towards their NFCE Level 1 & 2 Award in Creative Craft & Carpentry accredited qualification. Some great work has been produced.
