It was a great start to the new term with Elm Court Girls football team coming close to winning all four games at Long Lane.

We were without two other members to the squad, both Emma and Marta were missed.

Our first game: we lost 1-0 to Glebe Secondary School from West Wickham.  They caught us on a counter attack to score their goal. The girls tried so hard to equalise with Aliscia having both of her efforts saved by the Glebe goal keeper who was outstanding. Taylor put in some great challenges stopping the opposition from dictating the game and Amy being solid in defence. Overall it was a great team performance .

Jodie assisted in Aliscia’s goal from the throwing line to beat Woodside 1-0.  Annette pulled off two spectacular saves to keep us ahead and end the game as victors. We beat Glebe B team 2-0 with an own goal coming from a deflected attempt from Aliscia.  Aliscia made it two nil with a good finish five minutes from the end assisted by Taylor who then went on to have her effort saved.   In the final game Elm Court beat Drumbeat 2-0 (this could have been 6-0 with all the chances created).  The girls thoroughly enjoyed the day and were happy with their medals.  Despite losing out by just two points, Elm Court are second place in the league .
