The Autumn term came to an eventful end with our Christmas Performance on Thursday 17th December.
Devised and performed by our students the performance was compered by D’Andrey in Year 10 to a packed audience of parents and carers.
Among the great performances were Sean, Dante, and Darion on Steel Pans who gave a great rendition of ‘C in Blues’ and ‘Stir It Up’, followed by ‘Need You 100’ on steel pans by Justin, Taylor and Kenny.
Singers included Jodie who sang ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ accompanied by Carlos on piano and Jeremy on drums, Chadene sang ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ and D’Andrey sang ‘Lean on Me’
The afternoon also included a rap composed and performed by Young Aggy (aka Jaxon), Christmas Bells poem by Eugene Field, performed by Hanna and ‘A Christmas Carol’ short green screen film starring Gabriel, Hassan, Kasim, Elias, Nyat and Aisha.
The afternoon concluded with African Drumming – a rhythmic untitled pieced performed by Boanerge, Kevin, Kai, Sarah, John, Michael, and Kayne, accompanied by Mr Mensah and Ms Hall. Then all joined in to sing ‘Feliz Navidad’, a Spanish song, composed by Jose Feliciano.
It was a marvellous afternoon celebrating our students creativity and a great way to end the term.
On behalf of the staff and students of Elm Court School, have a restful and peaceful festive season and a happy New Year.
